Something to ponder

Life has a way of placing heavy burdens on our shoulders. We worry about our families, our health, our finances, our future, and sometimes we even carry regrets from the past.

Often, we try to bear these burdens alone.

In this week's Gospel, Jesus offers us one of the most comforting invitations in all of Scripture: "Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will

give you rest." (Matthew 11:28)

Notice that Jesus doesn't promise a life without challenges. Instead, he promises that we do not have to face those challenges alone.

He walks beside us, offering strength when we are weak, hope when we are discouraged, and peace when

our hearts are troubled.

As you go through this week, take a moment each day to pause and ask yourself: "What burden have I been trying to carry on my own that I need to place into Christ's hands?"

Then, in the quiet of prayer, trust that Jesus is already

carrying it with you.

May you know the gentle presence of Christ this week, and may you discover the rest that only he can give.

A Prayer for Peace

In this world of discord and division, we come together, seeking your grace. May your light shine upon us, guiding our hearts towards understanding and compassion.

Grant us the wisdom to see beyond our differences, to recognize the shared humanity that binds us all. Help us to embrace empathy, to listen and to heal.

In moments of anger, fill us with calm. In times of fear instill hope within us. Let love be our common language and may we work hand in hand to a brighter tomorrow.

Help us to embrace empathy, to listen and to heal.

As we nurture peace within us, may it ripple outwards and touch the hearts of all. Together, let us build bridges instead of walls, creating a world where peace reigns supreme. Amen
